OUR METHODS

The appraisal process consists of two essential and related parts: authentication and evaluation. Before a value may be assigned to a rug or textile, its identifying characteristics, such as geographic origin and age must be determined.

Appraisal processBy drawing on nearly fifty years of experience, and a substantial library of scholarly works Mr. Kosub is respected for his ability to identify a broad array of handmade rugs.

Proper identification provides the foundation for an accurate valuation, the next step in the appraisal process.

An understanding of the myriad circumstances imposed by courts, insurance contracts, and the U.S. Treasury Department enables Mr. Kosub to provide appraisals that address specific requirements.

Long time participation in the markets and production of oriental rugs allows Mr. Kosub to provide comprehensive valuation based on market comparisons or replacement with new construction.
